Cedar Removal & Forestry Mulching in Glen Rose & Somervell County

Land clearing in Glen Rose: what the ground is like

Somervell County has plenty of homeowner and recreational acreage, and the clearing needs can look different from property to property — a weekend place with cedar crowding the house, a river lot where overgrowth blocks the view of the water, or recreational acreage where a family wants trails and openings for deer and turkey. The terrain changes around the rivers and toward the north and east, where deeper bottomland soils and pockets of Cross Timbers bring more pasture, post oak, and blackjack oak into the mix. Forestry mulching works primarily at the surface, grinding standing vegetation rather than excavating the ground.

Defensible space can also be an important consideration on hillside properties where dense cedar and other vegetation grow close to homes, barns, and outbuildings. Clearing back that vegetation can create more separation around structures and help break up continuous fuels. Every property is different, so we’ll look at the terrain, vegetation, and how the property is laid out during the walkthrough before planning the clearing.
